The Ottawa WKOW...? Group has Created This Package for Volunteers

This package was put together by the Ottawa What Kind of World...? group. It is given to new volunteers and includes the following major sections:

  1. A Program Overview which explains what the ‘What Kind of World…?' program is and what its goals and objectives are
  2. A general Description of the three one-hour workshops
  3. A Memo to Task Force Volunteers about the expected commitment, our requirements, and opportunities available to volunteers
  4. The make-up of the executive sub-committees which lists volunteer opportunities for task force members
  5. Coordinating Committee Positions available to help organize the WKOW group (a one year commitment)
  6. A 'Branch Volunteer Opportunities' section about other volunteer tasks beyond WKOW at the Ottawa UNA-C branch

Finally, it includes a how-to guide for setting up a presentation including:

  1. An overview of the process of setting up presentations including a step-by-step guide and requirements of volunteers
  2. A quick summary of steps for setting up a presentation with sample follow-up calls
  3. A Booking Check-list form to fill out when confirming a presentation
  4. A Fax Cover Page to send out for booking presentations
  5. A sample letter to Educators to send out to schools and groups describing the program
